Your walking tour will begin at our meeting point in front of the Albertina museum, next to the State Opera House (Staatsoper). From there we’ll take the subway and after a short ride we will arrive at the spectacular imperial palace. You will be introduced to the history of Schönbrunn Palace, as well as to its most important residents. Finally our guide will lead you through the historic state-rooms on the “Highlight Tour” of the palace.
After the tour of the interior of Schönbrunn Palace ends, don’t miss the opportunity to walk the beautiful gardens and catch a glimpse of the Gloriette - an arch atop the hill overlooking Vienna’s forests - have a coffee, or even visit the famous “Strudelshow”, where you can experience how a traditional Viennese apple strudel is prepared. You can even take the opportunity to visit the oldest Zoo in the world on the magnificent grounds of the palace - the “Tiergarten Schönbrunn”.
Free walking tour - Vienna - awesome!
Carolina was our guide and we had a great tour! She had wonderful facts to share, was lovely and fun to listen to as well. Our group was a bit dull, so this was impressive. We learned a lot about the history of Vienna and she made a few custom stops based on questions and requests. Highly recommend as an intro to the city!
Excellent way to get a crash course in Viennese History and a great view of the city!
Loved this informative tour and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Vienna! Our extraordinary guide, Julia, shared a wealth of historical knowledge in an intriguing and enthusiastic way. She thoroughly explained the highlights at each stop and answered all of my questions-- I learned so much! I loved having her as our guide and can't say enough positive things about the experience she cultivated for our tour group. Following the tour she took time to provide city suggestions and I found myself enjoying her advice all day as I ate the best sacher torte in Vienna and enjoyed the atmosphere of a traditional Viennese cafe. Thanks Julia!
Free walking tour is a must!
Julia was fantastic, really knows her stuff! Learnt so much about the history of Vienna and appreciated her sense of humour and making sure we all knew where we were going after the tour.
Don’t just take our word for it though, our walking tours are amongst the highest rated on TripAdvisor!
